Pleiadi – HPC and HTC Computing Resources

PLEIADI is INAF’s distributed computing infrastructure, managed by USC-C, dedicated to supporting scientific activities that require high computational capacity. The system integrates computing resources made available to the scientific community for numerical simulations, data analysis, and large-scale processing.

The infrastructure is distributed across multiple INAF sites and is centrally managed, offering a unified computing ecosystem to support national and international scientific projects. In this context, PLEIADI represents a strategic element for strengthening the Agency's computational capabilities and supporting data-intensive research activities.

Application Procedures and Calls

Access to resources is granted through participation in periodic calls (Call for Proposals) issued by INAF's USC-C.

Calls are managed in successive cycles.

Each call specifies the application submission methods, evaluation criteria, and available resources. These may include, in addition to the Pleiadi system, resources on systems such as Leonardo Booster or data preservation services at IA2.
