We are pleased to announce that USC-C (formerly known as USC VIII) is organizing the second in-person course (with an option for remote attendance)on software containerization for scientific computing and infrastructure.The course will introduce the fundamentals of software containerization, along with more advanced concepts relevant to both scientific computing and IT services.
The event will take place from May 12 to 14, 2025, , at the Turin Astrophysical Observatory. The official webpage is available HERE
The course is free of charge and limited to 40 participants.Coffee breaks and lunch on May 13th will also be provided by the organization.
The registration deadline has been extended to the end of the day (CET) on May 5, 2025.
At the conclusion of the course, a questionnaire will be distributed to participants to verify the knowledge acquired. In-person attendance is strongly encouraged, in line with the spirit of the meeting, to facilitate interaction and Q&A opportunities. Remote participation is available for lecture sessions only; remote interaction will not be permitted.
Due to the limited capacity mentioned above, we encourage everyone to register as soon as possible via the link provided. Should the number of applicants exceed the room capacity by the registration deadline, priority will be given to PhD students, young researchers, and individuals with a declared and proven urgent need for training. Remaining spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is a high volume of excess registrations, a third similar event may be planned in the coming months.
