INAF is currently experimenting with Cloud Computing technologies based on commercial platforms such as Google or Amazon Web Services These resources are designed to be securely accessible via the web from qualsiasi struttura where an operator may be working. This model allows for the instantaneous provisioning of necessary resources—typically within a few minutes—specifically catering to a sporadic usage computing model..
In this context, INAF has tested the Google Cloud platform through various Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and is currently offering "on-demand" (accesso a sportello) computing services based on the Amazon Web Services platform.
