It proposes and organizes activities within general projects to provide infrastructure, innovative implementations, and to develop expertise for upcoming challenges within our institution's most significant projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sector is divided into two main axes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axis 1: PNRR <a href=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/en\/struttura\/settore-1-calcolo-critico\/hpc-bigdata-quantum-computing\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/struttura\/settore-1-calcolo-critico\/hpc-bigdata-quantum-computing\/\">Centro Nazionale HPC, Bigdata and Quantum Computing<\/a><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This involves the majority of INAF structures. In particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It promotes the training of a new class of technologists and researchers in the field of HPC computing, moving toward Exascale, and in Big Data management and analysis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Axis 2: Computing Infrastructures for Research<\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>External Infrastructures:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agreement with Cineca for the use of Leonardo and contribution to the acquisition of the new Tier 1 at the Bologna Technopole, scheduled for late 2024 \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/en\/struttura\/settore-1-calcolo-critico\/leonardocineca\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/computing-data-storage-archive-tecnopole-bologna\/\">Leonardo@CINECA<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allocated share of the new Tier 1 at the Bologna Technopole expected for 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Internal Infrastructures:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/en\/struttura\/settore-1-calcolo-critico\/pleiadi\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/struttura\/settore-1-calcolo-critico\/pleiadi\/\">Pleiadi<\/a><\/strong> and (starting in 2025) a Tier 3-sized system for data storage and archiving located at the Bologna Technopole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cagliari Astronomical Observatory: Computing infrastructure linked to the upgrade of the Sardinia Radio Telescope (structure reserved for the PON-SRT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Note:<\/strong> Access to computing resources is granted through the submission of a proposal: <a href=\"https:\/\/uscc.inaf.it\/en\/call-risorse-attive-e-passate\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"2515\">Call for Computing Resources.<\/a> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Il settore di implementazione Critical Computing riguarda gli aspetti computazionali legati ai temi di HPC (High Performance Computing), HTC (High Throughput Computing) e Big Data; propone e organizza attivit\u00e0 in progetti generali, al fine di offrire infrastrutture, implementazioni innovative e creare competenze per le sfide del prossimo futuro nei progetti pi\u00f9 rilevanti della nostra istituzione.
